This week’s social media update is in!
Facebook:
- As quickly as Facebook announced Facebook Live, it reportedly is deciding not to renew the video deals with publishers. Instead, the social network will turn its efforts towards longer, premium video.
- Facebook is creating a space for startup companies to work at Station F in Paris, France. It’ll be called Startup Garage and will provide space and experience to 10-15 startups for six month cycles.
- Catching up to the app, Facebook is revamping the Messenger web interface. Among the new updates is the capability to change the conversation’s color.
Twitter:
- Since May 2016, Twitter has slowly been phasing out the “buy” button. Starting February 1st, Twitter will no longer enable the button. However, it will still have the donate button enabled.
- You can now schedule tweets on Twitter, if you have a business profile. The tweets can be coordinated to go live with advertising campaigns.
Snapchat:
- Snapchat is introducing a universal search bar to its platform. The company is also working on expanding the Our Story feature.
Instagram:
- If you own an Android device and are looking to download Instagram – beware! There is a malware that Intel’s Security researchers have discovered. Basically, there are numerous apps that are designed to steal Instagram passwords on the Google Play Store.
LinkedIn:
- LinkedIn has recently undergone a redesign, the biggest since its inception. In addition to the new desktop experience, the business manager has been updated.
