It’s the end of another week and time for Kraus Marketing’s weekly social media update. This week Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter have released updates and/or new insights about their platforms.
Facebook:
- More than 1 billion people view an ad published by Facebook Audience Network each month. The findings revealed that the majority of the users saw an ad on their mobile phone. Native ads cover 83% of the audience network, however, video ads are continuing to increase.
- Following accusations of promoting false news, Facebook is implementing a new way for users to discover real news. As of yesterday, Facebook is enabling a dozen publishers to include more than one Instant Article in a single post.
- Facebook’s data is now allowing marketers increased opportunities to create retargeting ads. In the past, you could only implement a retargeting campaign for someone that has looked at a specific product on your website. Now, you can target someone who has looked for similar products on other websites.
Instagram:
- 150 million people are utilizing Instagram Stories, and the photo-sharing app has decided to capitalize on that number by implementing advertisements in between Stories.
Snapchat:
- Snapchat is continuing to integrate and improve ad capabilities to improve e-commerce and lead-gen marketing. The newest update to the ad platform is deep-linking and web auto-fill.
- 64% of marketers have snapchat accounts. However, it has been difficult for brands to figure out how to produce content for snapchat.
Twitter:
- Twitter live streamed the Golden Globes Red Carpet and 2.7 million Twitter users watched.
