Snapchat:
- Snapchat Spectacles are finally available online! After a few months of solely selling Spectacles in mysterious vending machines called Snapbots, Snap Inc., has released them online.
- Following news that Snapchat has released Spectacles online, rumors spread that Snapbots could be headed to Europe.
Instagram:
- A few weeks ago, we revealed in our weekly social media update, that Instagram was beta testing albums. Now, the feature has been released to all users on iOS and Android. Sharing multiple photos is very simple and you can share up to 10. Users are able to select the order that the photos display and then their followers can view them carousel-style in the newsfeed.
Twitter:
- Twitter is partnering with T-Mobile to personalize customer support on the platform. The feature will work by identifying when a customer is speaking with a human representative or a bot. If the person is speaking to a human, their photo, name, and job title will pop up.
Facebook:
- Facebook has updated Messenger to enable users to send money to people around the world directly in the app. Facebook partnered with TransferWise in order to offer this new feature.
- Facebook is in the process of testing mid-roll ads in on-demand video. The company is doing so in the hopes of getting an increased number of advertisers to utilize its platform.
WhatsApp:
- WhatsApp released a new featured called Status. This will allow users to share photos, videos, and GIFs with their followers. The messages will only last for 24 hours.
