Kraus Marketing Offers Pro Bono Social Media Efforts to Local Shelter

Our pets are a huge part of our lives. They are family members; our furry children. The love and home we provide them is the least we can do for the unconditional love they give us every day. Because we know how some animals crave as much love as they give, Kraus Marketing wanted to help a local animal shelter find as many of its residents a forever home as possible.

Kraus Marketing accepted applications to provide pro bono social media marketing plus ad spend for 12-months to help clear a local animal shelter. Choosing from such a large pool of deserving applicants was difficult to say the least, but after much review, we decided that Randolph Regional Animal Shelter would be a perfect fit! Only 2 months into their 12-month campaign, the success on social media, as well as the adoptions have been exciting and inspirational.

Each month the social media team has an interview/photoshoot at the shelter after hours, which helps us craft posts that truly allow the animals to shine. The photographers we have partnered with, Two Foxes Imaging, hold a little Red-Carpet session for each animal on the list for that month with toys, decorations, and of course treats.

“All of us here at the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter are so excited to have the opportunity to partner with Kraus Marketing. Our mission here is always to help the animals find homes and we know with this project, adoptions will increase greatly. We’ve already seen so much more activity through social media and inquiries coming through the shelter,” said Sunny, the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter Manager/ACO.

Since our first post with the handsome (and now adopted) Kanga, Randolph Regional’s Facebook impressions increased by 416.4%, engagements increased by 832.3%, and their Instagram’s total engagements increased by 49.978%. This is a huge improvement from previous posts, proving that ad spend and a little creativity from our social team can drive more traffic and potential adoptees.

Besides Kanga, Chica and Batman also found new families to spend the holidays with, and then the rest of their lives. We couldn’t be happier for them and hope to see the rest of these animals find their best friends and forever homes.

Speaking of the other animals, a 5-month-old kitten named Sweet Potato (renamed Banjo) was recently found on Thanksgiving. He is a Maine Coon mix, and one of the sweetest kittens we have ever met. He simply melted into our arms when we met him for the first time and it was clear that he wanted nothing but love. Luckily, he found it! The photographers we partnered with have decided to adopt him! We are so happy for Banjo and Two Foxes Imaging.

“We decided to adopt Banjo pretty much the moment we met him. He is incredibly sweet and loving, the perfect addition to our family. As an avid advocate for adoption rather than purchasing an animal, as well as the owner of several formal shelter animals, I can personally vouch that all of these animals are wonderful, loving creatures who deserve a home. Please, skip the pet store and save a life, it feels so much better when you do,” said Breelan Koch from Two Foxes Imaging.

Our social team dove head first into a creative pool when writing the bios for these animals. The bios are not the typical informational post about the dog’s breed and weight, rather they bring the animal to life on Facebook and Instagram. We thought it was important to personify these animals on the screen so that when potential adoptees go to the shelter to meet them for the first time, they already have a good grasp of their personalities.

“It’s so important to give back to the community and I’m so incredibly proud of my team for putting their whole hearts into really knocking it out of the park with this project from inception to implementation. Being able to use our award-winning skills to help others is what we do best and it’s invigorating for us to know we’re making a real difference,” said CEO, Nick Kraus.
