Snapchat Ads Can Now Be Created in 3 Quick Steps

Snapchat is well known for its short-form, disappearing content that allows users to give their peers snapshots and insight into their daily lives. As its popularity grew, it was only natural for businesses to realize its potential for marketing, thus Snapchat ads was born. Snapchat has just released a new way to create ads in just three steps. Let’s dive in.

How Does It Work?

Using the new ‘Instant Create’ tool, advertisers simply choose the ad’s main objective (increase website visits, app installs/visits), enter the URL of the business and select the targeting filters. From there, the tool will grab images from the attached URL and format them for the ad. If they so choose, advertisers can also manually upload images to be used in the ad. This is a great way to include more specific images and content relevant to the ad as opposed to more generic content from your website.

Why It’s Important

Because Snapchat has a very specific type of content format, an ad’s success on Snapchat is partially determined by whether the content used is engaging yet easy to grasp in a short viewing period. As said by Snapchat on its business blog, “Instant Create includes a streamlined ad creation flow that leverages our most popular templates and simplified ad detail options, enabling you to publish engaging creative without additional design resources.” This new feature is also a great way to “try before you buy,” so to speak. Businesses looking to include Snapchat in their digital marketing strategy can test out their ads on Snapchat without investing too much time or energy trying to create a more comprehensive campaign.

It’s happening. While smaller updates have been rolling out to promote businesses on Snapchat, in terms of featuring ads, this is big move towards making featured ads accessible to smaller businesses. Will this mean that users are going to be inundated with even more ads? Not necessarily, but it’s a step towards providing users with more content they might actually be interested in- which is the goal to begin with.
