Kraus Marketing participates in internship program with Morristown High School
June 15, 2016 – Morristown, NJ – Kraus Marketing, located at 4 Spring Street in Morristown, began participating in Morristown High School’s internship program this year. The internship program is an unpaid experience for seniors enrolled in Morristown High School that takes place during their last five weeks of school. Students gain hands-on career experience in a field of their choice.
Kraus Marketing’s participation in this program comes out of a want to give back to its community, as well as wanting to educate the next generation about marketing. In the past five weeks, Christopher Kerney, digital marketing director, and Elizabeth Floyd, digital marketing manager, have worked with Morristown High School Senior Brian Fajardo. Kerney and Floyd ensure he learns about the different strategies that go into each type of marketing agency, how to correspond with clients and how to be a part of the team, all while working under the hectic schedule of agency life.
“We wanted the opportunity to help a local student learn about marketing, a subject he was passionate about,” Kerney stated. “Most people don’t know what they want to do until they are 2 years into college, and Brian knew at 18 that he wanted to do sports marketing. He could have applied to a few places around town but he came here, and I wanted to make sure we gave him a great experience. Brian is a great guy, and we are very happy that we had him for the month that we did.”
Fajardo is also happy he has been with Kraus Marketing for the past few weeks. He originally wanted to do an internship at the company to see if marketing was something he wanted to study more in college. “The team here at Kraus makes it a really great place to work,” he stated. “Everyone is so professional and that also told me a lot.” Overall, Fajardo said he has learned a great deal and that the internship gave him good real-life experience.
Fajardo will be attending Fairleigh Dickinson University in the fall. Kraus Marketing will continue partnering with Morristown High School for the internship program and is excited to give more high school students real-life experience in marketing.
